How To Treat Hair Extensions? | |
Hair extensions have become very popular during the recent years and not only among movie stars. And we cannot find a better reason than the possibility of turning short hair into long hair in just a nick of time and transforming into a thick- and smooth-haired beauty with absolutely no trouble whatsoever. Or maybe some trouble?
There are certain very important rules to memorise or hang beside the mirror and follow when you have decided to have the hairdresser “grow” your hair to avoid trouble.
We will give you the most important ones right here:
- artificial hair is much harder to handle than real human hair, because it tangles easier and therefore needs more care;
- there are several types of hair extensions and techniques: they can be glued on, sewed in, simply clipped onto your own hair etc. Be sure to ask your hairdresser for instructions on special treating requirements and on how often you need to visit the salon to get your extensions treated to guarantee a terrific look instead of a horrific one.
- There are also requirements set to shampoos and other hair products because some substances can damage the extensions and they may come off (e.g. oils or silicone must not be used in hair extensions attached by keratin);
- It is not recommended to use the sauna in case of hair extensions attached by keratin, as high temperatures may also cause the keratin to melt and therefore the hair may come off;
- You must comb your hair with a special comb the hairdresser will give you and keep your hair in a ponytail at nights to avoid tangling.
Naturally there are other rules and tips you may ask your hairdresser to give you. Also, do not hesitate to ask people who have already got hair extensions to give you advice!
